Matt Maddaloni on Squamish Free Routes

Abby Watkins presentation: Climbing: A Woman's Perspective

Screening of In the Shadow of the Chief, with filmmakers: Angela Heck and Ivan Hughes

Canadian climbing films

The Evening:

1. This evening promises to be a journey through the evolution of climbing in BC and Canada. Beginning with the 'unclimbable' Stawamus Chief in 1961, we'll explore the progression of climbing in 2004. Maddaloni's multi-media presentation on modern free routes in Squamish will be in juxtaposition to Hughes documentation of the groundbreaking ascent 43 years ago.

2. North Face Athlete, Abby Watkins, will share A Woman's Perspective on Climbing. Whether on rock, ice, or mixed, Abby is pushing boundaries for all climbers.

3. Included in the mix are films documenting climbing from a uniquely Canadian perspective.

4. Door Prizes and Raffles including a 2-week Expedition in Pakistan, Norco Mountain Bike, and gear from Arcteryx, Heli-Hansen, Serratus, and 2 for 1 lift tickets to Mt. Seymour
