INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION

The main event of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival is a competitive film competition. Filmmakers from all around the world are invited to submit their work. This year, an International Jury will award financial and material prizes in the following categories:

*Festival Grand Prize (Best Film Overall, sponsored by Petzl); $ 1,000 in cash
*Best Film on Mountaineering (The Alpine Club of Canada Award); $ 500 in cash
*Best Canadian Film (Mountain Equipment Co-op Award); $500 in cash
*Jury's Award (Festival Award); $ 500 in cash
*Best Student Film (Festival Award); $ 500 in cash
*Best Film on Mountain Culture (B.C.M.C. Award); $ 500 in cash
*Best Film on Rock Climbing (Katherine Rae Award); Equipment Award
*Best Film on Mountain Biking (Festival Award); Equipment Award
*Best Film on Skiing (Festival Award); Equipment Award
*Best Water Film (Festival Award); Equipment Award
*Best Environmental Film (Festival Award); Equipment Award
