At first, local people thought they were treasure hunters and didn't understand what they were doing...

Rock climbers came to Geyikbayiri village of Antalya in 1999 and initiated this sport in the village. At first, local people thought they were treasure hunters and didn't understand what they were doing. In years, they welcomed the climbers due to the fact that this sport has effected their economy in a positive way. Now, Geyikbayiri is a different place with rock climbers settled in village and vivid climbing tourism.

Ozturk Kayikci
Ozturk was born in 1972 and is a graduate in sport sciences. He began work in the film industry as a camera assistant in 1996 and has since worked on several movies and commercials in Europe. As a photographer and writer his work has been printed throughout Europe in many publications. He has been an active rock climber for 17 years, working as a rope access technician on high rise buildings and has published 4 rock climbing guides in Turkey.
