"There are places in the mountain world that have a special significance for me, places I return to time and again. Some are real mountains with a real summit; others are simply vertical arenas. Most of them are in the Rockies, others near the Arctic Circle or half a world away in the Karakoram. What they all have in common is that they're places I've dreamed about, laughed and been afraid in, and felt more alive in than anywhere else." [Raphael Slawinski]
