VIMFF Climbing and Base Jumping Night
Still humming from the electricity of opening night, VIMFF will leap into Saturday evening at Centennial Theatre with the climbing and base jumping show!
Keynote speaker Steph Davis will delight audiences with her story of free climbing and base jumping four classic desert towers in Moab, Utah: Ancient Art, Hindu Tower, Sister Superior and King of Pain.

The Wolf and the Medallion
While climbing in the undeveloped valley of Keketuohai, "the Tuluomne of China," Jeremy Collins wrote a letter to his four-year-old son from the summit of a granite peak. "The Wolf and the Medallion" is a tale about the spirit that drives us to the summit. Collins has devoted himself to exploring both the creative worlds of art and climbing and describes the piece as "a letter that invites us all to run from our own inner beasts."
The Long Hope
St John’s Head on the island of Hoy is a wild and remote 1000-foot sea cliff. It was first climbed in 1970 by climber and poet Edwin Drummond, who, together with Oliver Hill, took 7 days to climb the cliff, sleeping on ledges and in hammocks on the way. Now, 40 years later, Scotland's top climber, Dave MacLeod, sets out to climb the cliff in a single day, finishing with a new desperately hard final pitch up the headwall. This new route will rate as the hardest climb of its type in the country.
I Believe I can Fly (Flight of the Frenchies)
This film is an amazing journey into the unknown. Two friends test the boundaries of free flight and friendship as they take their passion in a totally new direction. They are pioneers in ‘highlining’ - a vertiginous combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking. Using their skills and experience as climbers, the pair push their boundaries beyond the realms of possibility as they embark on a new evolution of their sport
