10 Things is a true backpack production: Filmed without a crew and simple equipment, but with a lot of passion. Tom Malecha is director, cinematographer, editor, and in most of the scenes, the rider.

It was only in January 2010 that I bought my first camera and started filming. I worked hard to get better at it, but still I was overwhelmed of the feedback I got when I uploaded my videos to the Internet. To be honest, I produced them primarily for me and my friends. My way to produce films is as minimalistic as it can get: I am the director, videographer, editor and most of the time, I am also the subject, filming myself riding past the camera. All my equipment fits into a small backpack and I do not do “film sessions”, but I document what I experience on my trips. As an alias I chose “Filme von Draussen”, which is German and means “films from outdoors”.
