This film concentrates on the first ascent and the first free-ascent of The Sphinx, located on the North Face of Triglav, the highest peak in Julian Alps.
On the north face of Triglav, the highest peak in Julian Alps, there is a giant wall known as The Sphinx, which stirred the imagination of Slovenian climbers for decades and is included itself as a a character in this dramatic feature-documentary. This film recreates the heroic efforts of the first team to climb The Sphinx in 1966, and more recently, highlights the wall's first free climb.
Director Bios:
Gregor Kresal
Gregor started filming in 2000. He filmed his first "real" TV Documentary on the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard in three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007. With the constant temperatures between - 30˚ and - 40˚ and many frosted video cameras, he decided, that filming is the job for him. He quit architecture and opened his own production house.
Vojko Anzeljc
Vojko is based out of Slovenia and has been directing films since 1997. His films have been featured in film festivals throughout the world.
