Starting in 1981 with Hamish Gets the Milk, and spanning three decades of books and magazines, Tami Knight still uses pens to draw the foibles and sillyness of the climbing community.
A hen among the foxes at Squamish in the late 1970's-early 80's, Knight realized that climbing was inherently funny and, attending art college at the time, she decided to use some of that education towards pokin' fun at climbers. Seven books, thirteen more which contain her illustrations, a ten-year run in Climbing Magazine and a nine-year run in Alpinist Magazine, Knight is still at it.
Tami Knight was born in Vancouver and has lived here all but one year of her life. She climbed extensively and treeplanted as well before having kids twenty years ago. Since then she's returned to her acrobatic roots and teaches circus arts at CircusWest School of Performing Arts in Vancouver.
