Down deep slots and magnificent waterfalls, a handful of dedicated Vancouverites are bringing a new outdoor sport to BC - Canyoneering. None of these canyons have ever been explored, and once in, the only way out is down.
A handful of dedicated Vancouverites are bringing a new sport to their local mountains, a sport that has always been linked exclusively to Utah and the Alps: Canyoneering. Against all expectations, the surroundings of Vancouver are an amazing playground for canyoneers, and one thing sets the region apart from all others: none of these canyons have ever been explored. Nobody even knows where they are.
We are following Damien and Lucia in their quest for "first descent" canyons in the mountains of Squamish, in a cinematic journey down deep slots and magnificent waterfalls. Their love for exploration is dangerous and incredibly committing. Once in a canyon, the only way out is down.

Filmmaker - Francois-Xavier "Fix" De Ruydts
Fix is originally from Belgium where he used to work as a Geographer. He moved to Vancouver 3 years ago to pursue his passion for the outdoors and photography and now works full time as an adventure photographer.
His approach to photography has always been driven by a passion for exploration. While trying to focus on less known and more exploratory activities, his goal is to bring people into places they had never seen before. Caving and canyoneering have occupied most of his time lately. His work has been published in magazines like BC Magazine, Explore, Canadian Geographic, Outside, Coast Mountain Culture, Outdoor Photography, and National Geographic Adventure.
For "Down the Line" he grabbed a video camera for the first time and tried to bring his photographic skills to film making.
