Following a dream, Canadian paraglider pilot Benjamin Jordan travels to Malawi to teach children the joys of kite flying. There he meets Godfrey, a young man who has always dreamt of flying though has never had the means. The odd pair tour the country on bikes, building kites with youth while motivating them to follow their dreams, no matter the challenge. They are destined to Malawi's highest peak, where from, after weeks of ground training, the two will attempt to fly down, making Godfrey the first Malawian paraglider pilot. Observing himself through the eyes of the Malawians, Jordan must come to grips with truths about who he is as a westerner while Godfrey is required to reach deeper into his faith than ever before to believe that the paraglider he's been carrying can truly carry him in return.
Director and Producer Benjamin Jordan
One day, Benjamin Jordan became tired of fashion and advertising photography in Toronto and gave away everything he owned except for his camera and skateboard, which he then rode to Vancouver, producing his first photo-documentary. Over the course of the 8000 km journey west, he fell in love with the power of genuine imagery -- real people, doing real things, and chose to devote his life to this.
He has since, travelled the world, began Paragliding, set a new World Distance Record by flying a Powered Paraglider back east across Canada, written a book and produced a handful of moving documentaries, both film and still. Today, he calls British Columbia's West Kootenay region home where he lives in his school bus and works passionately to inspire the world around him, one frame at a time.
