After being rescued off the roof of his parents house when he was three years old, Tim Emmett developed a life around climbing and extreme sports. Tim's talk gives you an insight into some of the adventures he has encountered from opening new exit points and wingsuit flying off the Chief, to deep water soloing and first ascents in the Himalayas. The last three years have been spent on his project 'Spray On Top' the 230m vastly overhanging back wall of the cave at Helmcken Falls, BC.
Tim is a professional extreme sports athlete and TV presenter who has appeared on numerous BBC programs. The Great British Country Side, Top Gear, Ultimate Rock Climb, and a six hour live broadcast on BBC Scotland, to name but a few. Tim works closely with Mountain Hardwear and in 2012 climbed the hardest Ice Climb in the World at Helmcken Falls, Canada. He has also established the most difficult rock climb in Cuba, Mongolia and Wales. A Wingsuit B.A.S.E. jumper, author and popular International Speaker, Tim continually pushes the boundaries of physical and mental performance.
On his first Himalayan trip in 2006 with Ian Parnell, Tim climbed a new route on the East Face on Kedar Dome (6840M) free, in Super Alpine style, and nominated for the Piolet D'Or (climbing’s equivalent to the Oscars). Tim also achieved podium position 4 times at the World Ice Climbing Championships. He has both the hardest Sport climb and Deep Water Solo in the Caribbean. In 2010 Tim made the first ascent of Muy Caliente the first E10 in Wales. Tim continues to pursue climbing’s latest cult – ‘para alpinism’ – climbing mountains with a parachute and then jumping off.
Tim enjoys many other sports including skiing, snowboarding, free diving, skeleton, bobsleigh, kite boarding, mountain biking and heli boarding. Tim is the Patron of the Charity “Breathtakers”. He graduated with Marine Zoology and has great interest in Nutrition and Training.
