The VIMFF is a small but dedicated non-profit organization with a vision to inspire adventurous thought and action for the betterment of people and the planet. We’re looking for someone who shares these values and wants to build relationships with partners who do, too.

Request for Expressions of Interest: VIMFF Board of Directors

The VIMFF is a community festival featuring international mountain culture film screenings, live multimedia presentations, photography exhibitions and seminars.

The VIMFF Board is looking for additional board members who are enthusiastic about supporting VIMFF’s vision and values, programming and community connections into the future. VIMFF directors provide strategic and financial oversight, advice and support to the VIMFF team.

In particular, the board seeks to enhance diversity and depth of expertise in the areas of not-for-profit finance, accounting and law; community relations, sponsorship and membership; and film production.

Additional qualifications include:

previous board experience, along with a collaborative, open and strategic mindset
experience in/ passion for the outdoors
desire to contribute to bringing inspiring and authentic films, workshops and experiences to a growing and diverse outdoor community, both locally and internationally.
ability to attend monthly board meetings (online or in person) and engage in specific initiatives, including planning, communication, document review, etc.
ideally located in the greater Vancouver area.

Role of VIMFF Board

Set/ confirm VIMFF’s strategic direction, together with the Festival Director.
Advise and support the Festival Director, including making decisions on items presented.
Review and approve annual budget and hold Festival Director accountable for VIMFF performance.
Support the Festival Director and staff in public and individual communications.
